ktvu anchor mark eastbound these and bubba paris will all be in new orleans. we're the only lol news coverage with a live post game show following that coverage. the 49er season has been a bit of a roller coaster for two players. hear from collin kaepernick and alex smith about how the two have dealt with the quarterback controversy and how they are doing to work together for a win. >>> in other news san jose police are investigating another homicide. it's the second in two days. the latest homicide happened last night at south side drive in hope street. 4-5 young men walked up to a man in his late 30s or early 40s. they then stabbed him repeatedly. investigators have yet to find a motive. >> there was a scuffle. the victim was stabbed several times in the upper torso. he was transported to the hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead. >> reporter: now police are not sure if it's connected but they are looking for a gray van that was seen leaving the scene right after the attack. as of now, they do not think this is -- this homicide is gang related.

stay tuned throughout county -- stay tuned to ktvu throughout the morning for more updates. >>> ktvu alex savidge just arrived on scene. what can you show us? what can you tell us? >> reporter: i can tell you this is a pretty good sized fire that is burning here at the lee high hanson cement plant. you can see a pretty good plume of black smoke that is coming up from this hillside here. there is workers driving by leaving the plant at this point. but you can see a lot of smoke there. what we understand is on fire is trucks of some kind. heavy equipment that is up in that area. it's unclear how the equipment caught fire. we understand there is power lines involved here because pg&e has called in. also have calls into the fire department. the plant as well. working to get more information on exactly what has caught fire here. but we are being kept a good distance away from it. we will try to gather more information and be back later on in the show. alex savidge ktvu channel 2 news. >>> two-year-old boy and his mother are listed in stable condition after getting shot last night in menlo
